Windows XP and Vista Registry Cleaners, The Inside Scoop

By Hiel Strassman

When looking for a way to improve the performance of your PC, don't overlook the importance of a good registry cleaner. This tool is a must for getting a slowing computer back up to speed as well as preventing errors and crashes. Seeing that a registry cleaner is such a great thing to have around makes me really confused as to why some people advise against using one!

In this article, I would like to make it clear that registry cleaners are an important tool that should be used periodically as a regular part of a computer's upkeep. I will also make the case any corruption in the registry can hurt a computer's speed and performance to a significant degree.

Yes, Registry Corruption is Real

Registry corruption exists and registry cleaners fix this corruption. I know this because I make a living repairing broken computers and I have seen corruption bring a computer to its knees. I have used registry cleaners many times to remove corruption and get these badly performing computers back up and speeding down the information highway again.

I seen more cases than I can count where a computer started to crash frequently or become very slow and when this happened it was caused by corruption in the registry. When this happens, there is no other viable plan of action other than to uses a registry cleaner so this computer will once again operate normally.

New OS's Need To Be Corruption Free

It wasn't long ago registry corruption went on behind the scene and was hardly noticed. Enter Windows XP and Vista. These operating systems are much larger than their predecessors and because of this, corruption disrupts their operations and in turn causes them to be more difficult to keep running at top speed.

Registry corruption will cause a computer to slow down. Sometimes this slowing down can be quite significant. Registry corruption will also cause errors and crashes. These things seem to mock the presence of spyware or viruses. Still, corruption must be dealt with when it is present.

Registry Cleaners Are a Good Thing

So what do you do when your computer is hardly functioning and you find you have corruption in the registry? Should you ignore it because some say registry cleaners are unnecessary? Not in my book! When a computer registry becomes corrupt, the only thing to do is scan it with a good registry cleaner. This, to me is common sense!

So, when your computer starts performing poorly, the first thing to do is use a spyware and/or virus scanner. These two programs do about the same thing. If you find problems there, clean them out. If that puts your computer back on its feet, great! If not, get a free registry scan with a reputable registry cleaner.

From my experience, I know once you clean a corrupt registry with a good registry cleaner, the computer starts to perform better than it has in a while. I have had many happy customers remark after their computer's registry was cleaned, that they hadn't seen their computer perform so well in a long time. - 16738
