Last Minute Valentine Gifts By Penny Lee

By Penny Lee

Valentine's Day - According to stories handed down over centuries, began in the year 270AD on the 14th February. A priest named Valentine was devoted to Christianity. Emperor Claudius III declared this a crime, punishable by death! The priest would not deny his faith and died a martyr. The memory of his love and trust is shared by millions every year.

Valentine's Day cards are a cause of great excitement and anticipation if you're guessing. Of the millions that are sent you could send a store bought card or have an exclusive card commissioned and personalised. You might even make a card yourself, whichever the option it's nice to be a part of the occasion.

A last minute gift that's always available are flowers, it's always acceptable too. Orange Blossom gives the message of innocence, eternal love and marriage. The beautiful Blue Violet means faithful and true, the Red Rose says I love you. Any or a combination of these would make Valentine's Day more romantic.

An alternative Valentine's day occasion could be a night out dining and dancing or going to a special show. An unusual idea might be an helicopter ride with aerial photo's to keep the memory or a drive around your area in a stretch limo with champagne and chocolates.

A Valentine's day often includes a proposal of marriage. A popular proposal is on a billboard, placed obviously on a regular route. A dozen roses at breakfast, again at lunch, and again at dinner. Then arrive with a single rose and a heart shaped gift tag saying 'Will You Marry Me?' And of course the traditional down on one knee proposal with a beautiful ring.

A big family affair, arrive in a horse drawn carriage or elope to Gretna Green or go to a tropical island for a beech wedding with a romantic honeymoon. A wedding day on St. Valentine's Day is an occasion you will treasure forever.
